Engineering with
curiosity & purpose.

I’m Namish, a third-year B.Tech student in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at IIIT-Delhi, and an incoming Software Engineering Intern at Microsoft for Summer 2027.

My work spans operating systems, backend development, and AI-powered tools — from a Unix process scheduler to a semantic code search engine. I enjoy connecting the theory behind a problem with the details that make an implementation work.

From May to July 2026, I explored the parameterized complexity of graph modification problems under Dr. Diptapriyo Majumdar. Outside coursework, my interests include competitive programming, stock market analysis, investing, and sports.

Semantic Code Search Engine

Find Python functions using natural-language queries. An AST-based extraction pipeline embeds code into a persistent FAISS index and serves results through a FastAPI REST API.

Python · sentence-transformers · FAISS · FastAPI · Docker

Technical details

Built /index, /search, and /stats endpoints, with cosine similarity on normalized embeddings. The project returned results in under 65 ms per query and uses Docker for containerization.

Unix Shell & Process Scheduler

A Unix shell supporting command execution, single-stage pipes, command history, and per-command process reports — paired with a round-robin CPU scheduler.

C · POSIX · Processes & signals

Technical details

Used fork/execvp and process signals to manage configurable CPU slots and time quanta. Tracked completion and wait times, and verified preemptive interleaving with a single CPU slot and a 200 ms quantum.

PropertyDheko

A real estate management system connecting owners, tenants, and agents through property, lease, and payment workflows.

Node.js · Express.js · MySQL · JWT

Technical details

Built 83 REST endpoints and used database triggers for lease integrity and property-status updates. Addressed concurrent lease creation and payment/termination conflicts through SELECT FOR UPDATE row locks and trigger-based conflict rejection.

University ERP System

A role-based desktop application for university administration, teaching, and student workflows.

Java · Swing · MySQL

Technical details

Designed a two-database architecture with hashed password verification and session-based role enforcement. Built an instructor gradebook with configurable assessment weights and automatic grade computation using a layered UI, service, and data architecture.

Graph Modification Research

Advisor: Dr. Diptapriyo Majumdar

Studied the complexity of graph modification through vertex splitting, with a focus on parameterized complexity and overlapping graph clustering.

Research focus

Studied Firbas et al. (Discrete Applied Mathematics, 2025), including the NP-completeness of Cluster Vertex Splitting through reductions from Node Clique Cover, and analyzed a linear O(k)-vertex kernel using critical-clique structure and reduction rules.
